The Falmouth University Student Mentor Awards 2017 were held recently at Merchants Manor in Falmouth on Thursday 27 April.
The Awards and Celebration evening recognises and celebrates the valuable work that the Student Mentors do as volunteers.
The team of 250 Student Mentors make a huge contribution towards ensuring that incoming students feel welcomed and supported as they join the Falmouth University community.
Their outstanding contribution has been demonstrated this year by over 60 student Mentors achieving higher level Awards of Excellence through Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards.
One of the awards celebrates and values exceptional support from a staff member, department or team, throughout the calendar year. This year the Living Support team, Student Services were the proud winners of this award.
Linda Selby, Student Mentor Manager said “The Living Support team were exceptional winners this year - with an unprecedented number of personal recommendations from Mentees and particularly Mentors who felt supported and ‘cared for’ in their role.
As a staff team, we cannot thank the Living Support team enough for their prompt and professional responses to all our (sometimes acute situation) queries. They have gone above and beyond to support our Mentors in their role and have been exceptional in their enthusiasm and commitment to collaborate with us and plan for future projects.”
Previous winners have been:
The Compass Senior Advisor - Steve Hickling
