This week is National Apprenticeship Week. At FX Plus our Apprenticeship Programme is really starting to take shape and we have six, new apprenticeships in place across the workforce with more in the pipeline.
Tony Sanders, FX Plus Managing Director, said: “This is one of a range of opportunities for our employees to improve or expand their skills. The Programme is open to new and existing staff and is a combination of working with FX Plus and guided learning with an independent training provider.”
Imogen Burleigh, who started a Nursery Nurse Level 2 apprenticeship at the Falmouth Campus Little Wonders Nursery, in October (2017), said: “I wanted to be an apprentice because you get to have a more hands-on view of what it is like working in a nursery environment rather than what you would get at college. Plus it is good experience/opportunity to have when you begin to work as an actual member of staff.”
Jodie Kotenko began the same apprenticeship at Penryn Campus Little Wonders. She said: “I chose the apprentice route because it allows me to gain a required qualification within a specific skill, whilst gaining work experience. In addition it allows me to learn the required skills within the job through practical work within my chosen career path.”
Charlotte Laity, joined FX Plus in September 2017 as a Timetabling and Room Bookings Administrative Apprentice. She said: “I wanted to learn and potentially gain another qualification but also be in full time employment at the same time, doing this apprenticeship has given me the opportunity to do so, and was definitely the right decision for me.”
Kay Dale, Head Housekeeper in Halls who has worked for FX Plus for ten years, said: “I want to do the apprenticeship to develop my career.”
