Planning permission has now been granted for the first stage of the exciting Penryn Campus 2020 academic space development.
The new building will provide an infill below the bridge link, located in the area between the current post room and the ATM lobby - including an overhaul of the outside courtyard through increased landscaping. The project will provide a space equivalent to the area of two tennis courts to increase seminar and tutorial provision on Penryn Campus.
We are currently tendering for a contractor and it is estimated that work will begin towards the end of this year (2018), to ensure the new space is ready for occupation in the autumn of 2019. This initiative is being jointly funded by Falmouth University and the University of Exeter to provide shared campus facilities for all students.
Tony Sanders, FX Plus Managing Director, said: “These plans follow detailed consultation with all campus users. The new, shared buildings will significantly improve the space, inside and out, and provide excellent new learning facilities for everyone – particularly students.”
