Account Information

As a member of staff you will be allocated a username and password, plus an email address.

When you recieve your campus account details, you will be required to complete an IT Services registration. You will be directed to this automatically the first time you log into a networked computer. You can also complete your IT Registration from home or off-campus. You will need to complete this before you can access anything else.

Your username will consisit of your initials follwed by a number, i.e. AB12345. Your password will be one of your own and will be set during the IT Registration process. Please be aware that your password will expire every 42 days and will need to be reset.

If you wish to reset your password, you can do this using our reset your password page. Your new password must:

  • Contain seven to fourteen characters.
  • Use three of the following four types of characters:
    • Uppercase letters (A, B, C)
    • Lowercase letters (a, b, c)
    • Numerals (1, 2, 3)
    • Special characters
  • Not contain a common word or name, or be a close variation on a common word or name

If you have any problems resetting your password, you can contact the IT Service Desk, and a member of the team will be able to reset it for you.

Guest Accounts

Temporary accounts are available for people visiting the University. If you require a guest account please contact the IT Service Desk (giving as much notice as possible) and an account can be created for your guest.

Guest Accounts are only valid for a period of 30 days, after which they will be disabled.

Agency Accounts

Agency accounts are for staff who are working at the University but are employed through an agency and not directly through the University. Like guest accounts, agency accounts are also temporary. They can be extended for a longer period than a guest account, and are normally set to expire after the temporary contract ends.
