Sustainability: Strategies, Management Plans and Policies

Falmouth Exeter Plus, Falmouth University (Falmouth) and the University of Exeter (UoE) aim to create a healthy, ecologically, economically and socially responsible living and learning environment for all students and staff, whereby the campuses (3) are recognised both by the Higher Education (HE) Sector and within its local community as a model of best practice in sustainability.

We recognise our responsibility towards promoting the principles of one planet living; including minimising our use of non-renewable and/or scarce natural resources, appropriate planning and investment in sustainable practices, the involvement of staff and students, and by providing an education in sustainability relevant to a world threatened by climate change.

Since 2009/10 all new development on the Penryn Campus has been designed to high environmental standards (at least BREEAM Excellent, and in the case of the new Environmental Sustainability Institute BREEAM Outstanding).

  1. an overarching strategy and delivery plan
  2. waste and recycling management plan (review)
  3. single-use-plastic strategy and action plan
