Once you have accepted your accommodation offer you'll be thinking about moving in and will have lots of questions about this. On this page we hope you will find all the information you need about the arrivals process.
Before you move into your accommodation you will need to complete the online induction. The induction includes important information about your residence, the support services available to you and information regarding health and safety during your stay with us. It is compulsory and must be completed before you can pick up your keys.
The induction will be emailed to you at the end of August.
Once you have completed the induction you will be asked to check in online where you can book an arrival date and time slot. You must book a date and time to arrive at your residence in advance; numbers are limited per time slot so please ensure you complete your induction and book your arrival as soon as you receive the email. You could face a long wait if you turn up at your residence without booking your arrival slot. If you find the time slot you wish to book is full, please choose the next available option.
Each of our residences has different arrival days and times available. For our larger residences we are offering an extended move in to include Friday 13th September at no extra charge.

Arriving Early or Late
Unfortunately we are unable to facilitate any arrivals earlier than the dates offered. Students are able to arrive later than the organised move in dates however the contract start date will still apply and students will be charged from the date stated on their formal contract. Please let the Accommodation Office know if you are expecting to arrive outside of the arrival weekend, so we can ensure your keys remain at Glasney Lodge.
Glasney Student Village
Free parking will be available during the arrival dates and times. Normal parking charges will apply outside of these dates in line with our pay as you leave system. You can find out more about how this works, including hourly charges, on our parking page.
Once you have checked in and collected your keys you will be be given an unload permit which will allow you to drop your car at a designated area within the Glasney Student Village. As there is no specific parking in these areas you will have a maximum of 15 minutes to unload the car, after which we request that it is moved back to the main car park. If you have two cars with you to unload you will only be permitted to take one car down at a time.
You will only be able to take your car into Glasney Student Village once for unloading. If you need to visit the shops to get groceries we advise that you do this before arrival or park at the main car park and walk your shopping down.
Allowances are made for blue badge holders.
Offsite halls of residence
For our other residences information, including a map and directions will be emailed prior to arrivals.
Parking at the majority of the offsite halls will be in pay and display car parks.
At Packsaddle Hill there is no parking so after belongings have been dropped off cars will need to be parked on campus.
If you order food to be delivered from local supermarkets we advise booking this for outside of the arrival times. During the arrivals weekend delivery vans will not be permitted entry to the residences.
We are unable to allow any guests in residences for the first two weeks. Therefore we would advise that if parents, relatives or friends are accompanying you they will need to book their accommodation elsewhere and well in advance. Falmouth and Penryn has an abundance of hotels, guest houses, B&Bs and hostels and many advertise via VisitFalmouth.com.
What to bring
When packing for your move in we would advise to travel light, especially if you are sharing a room!
Items vary in each residence. The information on each residence page has details of what is provided and what you need to bring with you. We would suggest that you wait until you arrive to buy general cleaning equipment or shared kitchen items; you can then share the cost with your fellow residents and you won't end up with several sets of saucepans!
Some residences also have different bed sizes. Check the halls of residence page for information on the bed type in your halls. Where a room type can have different bed sizes we will email you closer to move in to confirm your bed size.
You can order starter packs such as bedding and kitchen equipment from UniKit Out, reducing the amount of items you need to bring with you. The items will be sent to your residence in time for the arrival day. Please see below instructions and to place your order please click here.
