Promoting National Dyslexia Awareness Week

22 October 2013

The Compass has been promoting National Dyslexia Awareness Week.

The focus of this event was to seek feedback from new Falmouth University (Falmouth) students who undertake a learning style profiler and dyslexia screening programme during induction; to debunk the myths about dyslexia among all students; and to highlight the positive attributes and learning strengths that people with dyslexia possess, such as problem-solving, holistic thinking, motivation, determination and creative coping strategies.

Access South West joined our Dyslexia Skills team to demonstrate the types of assistive technology available to students.

If you are a Falmouth student who missed your induction, or a University of Exeter student who would like to find out more about our screening programme and the support we offer, please email dyslexia@fxplus.ac.uk
