Timetabling Officer Charlotte Laity has been shortlisted in the Customer Service Category in the Cornwall Apprenticeship Awards 2018.
The awards, run by Truro and Penwith College, are in their fourth year and attracted hundreds of nominations. Charlotte was selected as one of the top three nominees in her category.
Winners will be announced at a ceremony hosted by Pirate FM’s Holly Day and Neil Caddy, at Truro College on Friday 12 October.
Charlotte, started as a Timetabling and Room Bookings Administrative Apprentice in September 2017. She was promoted to Timetabling Officer in May.
She said: “I wanted to learn and potentially gain another qualification but also be in full time employment at the same time. Doing this apprenticeship has given me the opportunity to do so and was definitely the right decision for me.
“I’m really pleased to have been shortlisted. The first I knew was a friend congratulating me because she had seen the shortlist.”
Vanessa Templeton, Timetabling and Room Bookings Manager, said: “This is such an achievement bearing in mind the number of nominees. Fingers crossed for 12 October!”
Tony Sanders, FX Plus Managing Director, added: “I want to add my own congratulations to Charlotte - what a great result and I am sure it follows a lot of hard work.
“This is the first year of our major push of apprenticeships in FX Plus so it is really good to have an apprentice that has been nominated for these awards. “Thank you, Charlotte for all your support to the timetabling team and our students.”
The FX Plus Apprenticeships Programme is one of a range of opportunities for employees to improve or expand their skills. Open to new and existing employees it involves a combination of working with FX Plus and guided learning with an independent training provider (locally these are Cornwall College, Cornwall Marine Network and Truro and Penwith College).
The Cornwall Apprenticeship Awards bring apprentices, their families and Cornwall's business community together for a celebration of excellence in apprenticeship training across the county.
