Committee appointment for Head of Facilities

21 September 2018

Head of Facilities Operations Natalie Brown has become the first FX Plus employee to be appointed to the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) committee.

In this position Natalie, who has worked for FX Plus for seven years, will be representing the South West region for Cornwall.

BIFM is the professional body responsible for promoting excellence for the benefit of practitioners, the economy and society. It encourages professional standards and supports more than 17,000 members around the world, plus thousands more through qualifications and training.

Natalie said: “I used to be a BIFM member when I was working in London so understand the value of the organisation and how it helps to keep people up to date with best practice in facilities management.

“I want to work with BIFM to create a better network and more support in the South West. There are things we can bring to Cornwall – for instance training, professional qualifications and networking events.

“My role will be to build membership numbers in Cornwall and champion the opportunities and service excellence. I am planning a launch event in November at the Penryn Campus to raise awareness of BIFM and the benefits of being a member.  I am hoping to bring together current members as our first networking opportunity in Cornwall.”

FX Plus Director of Residences and Facilities, Oliver Lane, said: “This is a significant achievement as Natalie is not the first FX Plus employee who has tried - but she is the first to succeed! I’m sure that this position will benefit us and the universities we work with as Natalie learns and shares best industry practice.”
