Service Status & Opening Times

We received notification that South West Water needs to carry out urgent work to assets located on Helston Road, Penryn. This means the road will be closed on Thursday 25 April for up to three days. Signage and diversions will be in place, but you may wish to allow extra time if you plan on visiting campus during this period.

The Cornwall Chamber of Commerce’s Planet C conference will be taking place on Penryn campus on the Tuesday 30 April, from 09:00-16:00, in the Upper Stannary. This means a part of the Upper Stannary space will be closed off for private use. Greater footfall and noise are to be expected in this area throughout the day, for this reason, you may wish to work or meet in an alternative location on campus. All walkway routes will remain open, and the Deli Bar and Sustainability Cafe will not be affected.

Due to the refurbishment of Falmouth library and Fine Arts within the Tannachie Garden building, it is planned that these areas will close on Monday 3 June 2024 from 8:00am. They will reopen when the refurbishment is complete. Areas not affected by the works, such as the IFY Drawing space, will remain open as usual. However, during this period, whilst the works take place, some noise disturbance is to be expected. At times, there may also be potential disruption to main road through campus, to allow for deliveries and contractor vehicles on site. Our contractor will fully comply with all Health and Safety legislation and any alternative and accessible routes will be signposted by the Estates team.

Due to a smart meter upgrade, there will be a planned power disruption to the Kathmor and Lamorva buildings on Falmouth campus on Thursday 6 June, from 10:00am (exact) to around 13:00pm (estimated). Electricity supply for building will be interrupted for around 90 minutes. The bell will sound for a few seconds so please take no action and do not evacuate the building at this signal. If you cannot hear the alarm in your area, please inform Security on extension 5875. Should the bell continue to sound, please assume it is a real alarm and evacuate accordingly. Please obey alarms at all other times.
