On occasions you may be required to work from home and access your files, shared areas, documents, applications and programs. There are various ways you can access your files from home.
If you use a virtual desktop at work (VDI) you can install the VDI client on your home computer or work laptop and log in to the VDI from home, accessing everything as if you were on campus. Instructions for installing the VDI client are available for download. If you do not use a VDI at work you still might be able to use this at home to log straight into your dekstop. Please contact the IT Service Desk if you would like to find out more. Please note that if you log into your VDI from home, you do not need to access your emails, shared areas, sharepoint, documents, files, or programs and applications separately as you will be working directly on your work desktop as if you were on campus.
The Virtual Private Network (VPN) service provides staff and students with the opportunity to access to the FXPlus intranet, the IT Service Desk, My Documents and the shared file storage areas via the web. You can also download and install the AnyConnect client from here. Instructions on how to do this are available for download.
WebVPN is not required to access the Falmouth University intranet (SharePoint Online departmental team sites), and the OneDrive for Business.
You can access your email from home by visiting webmail. You will be required to log in using your campus username and password (Please ensure you use the staff\ prefix before your username when logging into email).
