The Campus & Commercial Events (CCE) team have devised a process to assist you in planning an event at the Penryn Campus.
Please read the information here, to make organising your event simpler and ensure its success.
Information for staff
When organising an event at the Penryn Campus, Academic and Professional Services staff should book their rooms at: firstname.lastname@example.org to include time for set-up and breakdown.
Once rooms are booked, please contact us in CCE for help in planning your event.
NB. The CCE team oversee all events on campus, to ensure that individual events do not compromise one another and there are resources in place to ensure the success of them all.
Please speak to CCE as soon as possible, don't wait until all the details are in place. The earlier we know about an event the more proactive we can be in avoiding any potential issues before they arise.
If your event is to be held outside, either in full or in part please see the Outdoor Space/Filming & Photography information.
If yours is a smaller meeting, requiring hospitality only, please complete a Hospitality form and submit it to: email@example.com.
Information for students
Assessed Student Events (CEM/Drama/Photography/Entrepreneurship)
The process for assessed student events is different to the staff booking process as it forms part of students’ assessed work so students need to coordinate the event themselves and liaise directly with FX Plus teams. It also gives those teams an early indication of events and activities taking place across a busy period.
To give your event the best chance of success you should read the Event Planning Guidance below which will give you all the information you need to organise a first class event.
Outdoor space and filming/photography
Planning to use an outdoor space or film your event? Then you need to request approval from University directors via C&CE, see the Outdoor Space/Filming & Photography information.
Students booking The Compass/Social Street space
The Social Street area (on Level 0 of The Exchange opposite The Compass desk) is available for students to book a stall to promote their sport or society; to raise money for a charity; or to fundraise or generate feedback for a course project. Get more information and booking forms for the Social Street.
FXU student cake or food sales
If you are organising a cake sale on behalf of an FXU Affiliated Club in the Stannary, Compass or elsewhere on Penryn Campus you must advise FXU in the first instance. FXU staff will provide you with guidance and instruction on what you need to do to comply with the Food Regulations 2014 and ensure your sale is a success.
