Stall Booking

As well as offering help and advice on any aspect of university life, The Compass is also a physical space that showcases different events and stalls throughout the academic year.

The Social Street area (on Level 0 of The Exchange opposite The Compass desk) is available for students and staff to book a stall to promote their sport or society or university approved campaign; to raise money for a charity; or to fundraise or generate feedback for a course project. If you would like to book a stall in the Social Street please complete the booking form.

Stall Booking Terms and Conditions

  1. All booking requests must be made by the Exchange Stall Booking Request Form and completed at least 2 working days prior to the event. Please give as much notice as possible so that all furniture requests and risk assessments can be considered.

  2. Any requests for non-FXU affiliated stalls must have approval from a designated staff member on campus – this could be course representative or member of a Student Services team.

  3. All food served in the area must comply with the Food Information Regulations 2014 and display the following at their sales table: A disclaimer stating that these items were not produced by Falmouth Exeter Plus; A statement indicating what the funds raised will be used for; A comprehensive list of the ingredients of each item for sale including a full list of allergens.

  4. Hot catered food or drink is NOT permitted to be served from student stalls in the area.

  5. All special requests regarding the serving of food for events in the space must be made in advance to

  6. All stalls must produce a risk assessment to plan to mitigate for any hazards that may occur during the duration of the booking. Please see the Health and Safety guidelines for further information – you may be asked to produce a Risk Assessment form on the day.

  7. Any special requests or risks that are not shown in a general space risk assessment form should be submitted to the Health and Safety Adviser for approval:

  8. Noise in the Social Street area must be kept to a minimum to ensure little impact on library users above – this includes playing music or other audio devices.

  9. All rubbish and waste generated by the stall must be disposed of in the recycling and general waste bins provided in the area. Please make sure that you leave the area clear for other users.

  10. The Social Street area is available to book by all student groups. Please be aware that other stalls/ bookings may be taking place at the same time including similar activities to you stall – stall booking does not guarantee exclusivity of the area.
  11. All filming and photography requests are subject to approval from the Campus and Commercial Events Team. All requests must be completed on the appropriate form and submitted in advance of the booking.
